First of all, yesterday was possibly life changing, while I still don’t have the desire to run a full marathon it’s definitely more on my radar. Getting faster and speedwork is also now a big goal. Yesterday was the first time I have ever actually watched a marathon. In fact, I streamed the Boston Marathon on my computer to watch it. I never realized running was so incredible to watch. So awe-inspiring. Ryan Hall running a personal best of 2:04 and got 4th. Desi took 2nd by 2 seconds, 2!!!! And Kara; I have a new love for Kara. You know she just had a baby? 7 months ago, not even a full year yet and she still took 5th place and ran a personal best yesterday! Then there’s the amazing Angry Runner who said tendon be damned and kicked some Boston ass!! The beautiful Skinny Runner who not only ran Boston but ran another marathon on Saturday and looks HOT doing it(jealous!). The awesome Aron at Runner Rambles did her first Boston! Cate not only did Boston but she did it around 19 weeks pregnant! She made the cutest shirt that said “I’m not slow, I’m pregnant!” Shut up and Run rocked it even though she had suffered a hip stress fracture! And I’m sure Morgan at CAUTION: Red Head Running was one of the best cheerleaders there(I feel your pain about sunburns girl, I’m a ginger too!) And even though Janae didn’t get to run, she’s found peace and even inspiration from her injury! So jealous of everyone who got to be there! The husband and I are already talking about booking hotels and volunteering for the race next year. I’m hooked! I guess there was a reason for me to stay home yesterday, other than my ill stomach.
So this weekend, the husband was supposed to be home Saturday morning. Due to weather, he didn’t get home until Sunday night. I’m still not sure the reason, although given the damage by tornadoes and a plane crash in New Orleans, I’m just guessing the big guy had a better idea of keeping him(and some fellow Soldiers) on the ground. Good reason.
Because he got home so late and I wasn’t feeling too well Monday, I took the day off. As did he. We had to finish our taxes(long story) but on the plus side, we got the car situation resolved and the money was enough to cover what we owed in taxes. While I would have loved to buy myself new stuff pay off debt, I guess there was a reason for my accident and now we don’t owe the Feds!
*sidenote* Anyone in the Chicagoland area, I highly recommend the H&R Block at Woodfield Mall. They’re AMAZING! They helped us SO much it’s unreal. If you want the specific name of the person we worked with, shoot me an e-mail
Although my job is still in the air, we hopefully got some great news about the husband’s possibility of a wonderful opprotunitiy. If you’re the praying kind, some extra prayers would be great. If not, positive thoughts, vibes, juju, whatever are appreciated too.
Everything happens for a reason. And it will happen at the time it’s supposed to, even if you may not think so right away. And remember
“Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.”

This years BM was an awesome year! And Kara is a BEAST! While I don’t think I’ll be running marathons soon I hope I’ll be able to pick up running again after I pop this sucker out!
